France Expat Blog | How to spend Easter in France

フランス駐在ブログ┃フランスのイースターの過ごし方

Pâques

Easter is the celebration of the resurrection of Christ, and is called "Pâques" in French.
This year Easter fell on April 4th and Lundi de Pâques (Easter Monday) was celebrated on April 5th.

As the packing season approaches, cute chocolates shaped like eggs or animals such as rabbits and chickens begin to appear on store shelves.
French families with small children have a tradition of hiding egg-shaped chocolates around the house or in the garden and having a treasure hunt, with the children desperately searching all over the house to get their hands on the chocolates.

The local stores were packed with attractive chocolates and colorful sweets, so I bought some chocolate for the egg hunt.

I secretly hid small chocolates in the living room and in the bushes in the garden.
The chocolates were the size of your thumb, so we had a hard time finding them all, but we managed to collect them all and enjoyed them all.

After running around the house on an egg hunt, it's time to relax with a cup of coffee.
The combination of sweet French chocolate and bitter coffee is so good that you'll find yourself eating too much.

We will continue to bring you the latest on French events and lifestyle, so please look forward to our next blog post about our time in France!
