agney* of Nakayoshi Shoji Co.,Ltd has won the iF DESIGN AWARD 2022

The Right(Left)-Handed Bamboo Toddler Spoon is a beginner utensil for children who have just finished baby food. A difficulty for young children using a regular spoon is that they have yet to develop the coordinated wrist movements required to use them. To address this, our spoon makes use of the lever principle, making it simple for children to scoop food using their more coordinated elbow and shoulder movements and to carry it smoothly to their mouth. Being able to eat independently gives young children a sense of accomplishment and the lower-stress activity of eating will encourage their interests in food to expand.

Award-winning product – First Spoon –
Agney*'s "First Spoon" was selected as the winner of the iF Design Award 2022, one of the world's most important design competitions, after a judging panel of 75 design experts from around the world.
"First Spoon" is a beginner's spoon for children who have just finished weaning. The difficulty for young children using a normal spoon is that they have not yet acquired the wrist coordination required to use a spoon. We therefore developed a spoon that applies the principle of leverage, allowing children to scoop up food with more coordinated elbow and shoulder movements and smoothly bring it to their mouth. When a child is able to eat by themselves, they can experience a sense of accomplishment, and the stress-free act of eating will also broaden their interest in food.
The iF Design Award is organized annually by iF International Forum Design (Hannover, Germany), the world's oldest design organization.
