Natural Living - Furoshiki

風呂敷

I always take a furoshiki with me when I go to the supermarket or shopping.
At the register, you are asked to place your purchases in the "paid" basket first, and then the selected items are placed on top.

People are usually surprised.
"Is this a furoshiki?" the cashier asks.
Older people say, "That's wonderful."
If I'm a young part-time worker, I get laughed at. It's embarrassing.

But the convenience outweighs the embarrassment.

"Payment completed" Just tie up the ends of the furoshiki that are sticking out from the basket in two places, then put your arms through the tied parts and you can take it home without having to put it back into a bag!
This is great for when your children are small or on the move and you want to move quickly.
And it digs in less than a plastic bag, so it doesn't hurt when you hold it.
If you keep the knots intertwined, they will keep their shape.
It sticks out like a green onion or a radish, making it hard to hold and carry, but it can be made stable by adjusting the position. It's also easy to hang on a bicycle.
When you get home, you can untie the knot and fold it up and it will just be plain cloth so it doesn't take up much space.

It can be used as an eco-bag when shopping, but it has a wide range of other uses.
It's really convenient.

Since I have a strong love for furoshiki (?) this post will get a bit long, so I will limit it to the shopping section.
